Robert Gates Wins Marketing Award

Robert Gates was recently honored with the Auctioneers Association of N.C. Advertising Award in Public Relations on Jan. 16.
Gates submitted two Lincoln Times-News stories about their auctions for Fox’s Fish Camp and the late Richard Berryhill, a war veteran that collected artifacts once belonging to Adolf Hitler.
Judges chose the Berryhill story as the winner in the newspaper/public relations feature category.
“I was excited, jumping off the walls,” Gates said. “You have hundreds of auctioneers across the state submitting their pieces so you only have a limited chance to win once, maybe twice, in a category. We have been very fortunate to have won four advertising/marketing awards out of the last three conventions”

Although some real estate offices are shutting down or loosing staff during these tough economic times, there is a bright spot in the local real estate market because Robert Gates’ business continues to grow. Gates, co-owner of Gates Auction and Realty in Lincolnton, a franchise of United Country Real Estate, has opened a second office, United Country — Lake Norman Real Estate, in Denver, NC.
Gates said his company has experienced tremendous interest and growth in the Lake Norman area, which prompted the opening of a Denver office.
“We are based in Lincolnton, however, with our local, regional and national marketing, we are experiencing more and more interest from the Denver, Lake Norman, Charlotte and surrounding regions calling about our exclusive marketing program,” Gates said.
Part of the growth stems from the support United Country has given Gates and his staff.
“Instead of decreasing resources, tools, technology and support during tough economic times, United Country is totally engaged in making us successful by continuing to support us in any way we need help,” Gates said.
“When United Country helps to make our firm, our staff, clients and customers successful, we have no reason to give up, nor do we have reason to go backwards because everything coming from our home office is positive and thus this expansion is the end result.”
